Wages increase in Poland

Poland saw wages increase by around 3.4 percent last year, say new stats released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS).

According to Rzeczpospolita, this figure marks the best rise in six years. 2008 saw a 5.9 percent increase, however 2012 witnessed only a 0.01 percent rise and last year it sat at 2.8 percent.

?This has come about not only due to improvements within the economic situation but due to the fact that in previous years firms have failed to increase wages for fear over their future,? says Professor Joanna Tyrowicz.
