Poland signs strategic cooperation deal with General Electric

Poland’s Ministry of Development on Thursday signed a strategic cooperation agreement with US multinational General Electric.

The deal was signed in Warsaw by Poland’s Development and Finance Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and GE vice chairman John G. Rice.

The Development ministry said in a statement that the main goal was “to build a lasting and long-term partnership between the Polish government and GE in the areas of sustainable energy and aviation.”

It said other objectives included supporting the development of the Polish economy, industrial modernization, the introduction of innovative technologies and supporting the Polish labour market.

It added that one of the points of agreement referred to increasing the share of local suppliers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in GE’s global supply chain.
