Poland and Norway discuss further cooperation

Poland’s deputy Foreign Minister Katarzyna Kacperczyk met with Norwegian foreign affairs state secretary, Elsbeth Tronstad, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.

“We view Norway as an excellent potential partner to cooperate with in the fields of IT, creative industries, environmental protection and the development of start-ups,” deputy minister Kacperczyk said during the meeting with Tronstad on Tuesday. Speaking about bilateral cooperation, Poland’s Kacperczyk pointed to the developing cooperation between the two countries in the energy, marine and defence industries. Meanwhile, Norway’s Tronstad confirmed that Poland’s plans are in line with the priority areas identified by Norway within the financial mechanisms of the European Economic Area (EEA), including Norway, where research and development plays an important role. “Polish [refiners] PGNiG and Lotos, have been present on the Norwegian market for many years. We hope to see further development of cooperation in this sector,” deputy Minister Kacperczyk said.
