New report: Poland as one of the best food exporters in EU

Podobny obraz

According to the report by the BGZ BNP Paribas bank, Poland has become one of the leading food producers in the EU. Over the past ten years polish food exporters have made a great effort to increase some of the numbers of exported products.

Production of poultry in Poland increased to 116%, beef by a third and cereal by 10%. Last year exports of agricultural produce reached EUR 24 billion, with wheat exports rising 8 times. Poland’s exports future looks rather positively: this year Poland is predicted to produce up to 30 million tons of grain.

How was it possible?

As reported by BGZ BNP Paribas head of economic analysis Michal Kolesnikow, the success was made possible by the EU funds and EU entry, high global prices of merchandise, high production capacity reserves, weak position of zloty and low labor costs.
