New pension system for disabled planned by the Polish government

The Polish government will have to spend over PLN 100 million in extra funds to raise pensions for former disability benefit recipients, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza writes.

Poland has failed to cover disability benefit recipients who switched to pensions after reaching the retirement age with the minimal pension hike to PLN 1,000, but intends to do so, a representative of the government told the paper.
A respective amendment has been prepared by the Labor Ministry in which it is assured the financial impact of the solution can be covered from the social insurance fund FUS’s 2017 budget.
