The unemployment rate in Poland in July was 10.1 percent, down from 10.3 percent in June.
July’s figures are said to be the best since 2001 in accordance with the Ministry of Labour´s statistics. “Job centres at the end of July registered 1,587,000 people, according to estimates from the labor ministry,” the ministry said. “This is the best outcome for seven years. During the month the number of unemployed fell by more than 35,100, the strongest decline in the last five years,” Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Labour and Social Policy, said.
Employers in July submitted more than 117,000 job offers. The situation improved in all provinces – and the most in Silesia in the south, Lower Silesia in the south-west and Wielkopolska in the mid-west of Poland.
