Foreign trade deficit at ?1.12 bln in October

Poland exported goods worth ?136.08 billion (PLN 568.3 billion, $184.7 billion) in January-October 2014, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) on Wednesday.

Imports stood at ?137.21 billion (PLN 572.95 billion, $186.24 billion).The resulting foreign trade deficit was ?1.12 billion (PLN 4.67 billion, $1.53 billion), GUS said.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2013, exports and imports grew by 4.7 percent.

Trade with EU countries stood for 77 percent of Poland?s exports and for 58.5 of imports. Trade with so-called CEE countries (Albania, Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine) stood for 7.5 percent of exports and 12.7 percent of imports.
