The Jagiellonian University has advanced in a ranking of the 100 most innovative European universities as ranked by Reuters news agency.
The university in Kraków, southern Poland, is the only higher education institution in Central and Eastern Europe to be included in this year’s ranking. The university advanced two places from the previous year, moving up to 90th place.
The “Europe’s Most Innovative Universities 2017” ranking is based on an analysis of scientific publications and patent data from 2010-2015.
The Jagiellonian University said on its website that its inclusion in the ranking is largely a result of the activities of its Centre for Technology Transfer (CITTRU), responsible for patent applications.
