Polish Finance Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with his French and German counterparts on Wednesday in Paris for talks concerning various EU-related topics.
The two-hour meeting between Morawiecki, his German counterpart Wolfgang Schäuble and France’s Michel Sapin focused on the future of the EU post-Brexit, strengthening the currency union, the European Commission’s infrastructure investment programme for Europe and the creation of a digital single market.
Schäuble also invited Morawiecki to the G-20 summit of 20 major economies in March in Baden-Baden in Germany.
On the plane back to Warsaw, Morawiecki told journalists that it is “very important to be [at the G-20 summit]” because “there will be talks about international regulations regarding the financial system, including tax evasion”.
Morawiecki also said that he invited his counterparts for the next talks in Warsaw.
