Polish firm Ursus on Thursday signed a USD 100 million deal to supply Zambia with thousands of tractors and agricultural machines.
Agricultural tractors and machines producer Ursus signed a USD 100 million contract with Zambia-based Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) for delivery of 2,694 tractors and 2,509 farming machines, the company said in a market filing.
Ursus will start realization of the contracts as soon as it receives a 40% downpayment, the filing reads. “The project is expected to be completed within a year of the start of its implementation,” Ursus said in a statement sent to Poland’s PAP news agency.
Under the contract, an assembly plant will be built in the capital, Lusaka, along with 10 service points throughout Zambia.
