Polish exports of white goods soar

Polish exports of major household appliances continued to climb in 2015, rising close to 10 percent on the previous year.

According to a new report by the Polish wing of the European Committee of Domestic Equipment Manufacturers (CECED), white goods now constitute as much as 3 percent of Poland’s entire exports.

All in all, exports of white goods reached PLN 15.7 billion (EUR 3.6 billion) in 2015.

About 85 percent of Polish exports of white goods end up in other EU countries, with Germany, France and Great Britain purchasing the most.

Wojciech Konecki of CECED Poland notes that washing machines are the biggest hit, with about 6 million produced annually in Poland.

At present, there are 27 factories in Poland producing white goods, and about 22,000 people are employed in the sector.
