Poland’s central bank NBP recorded a profit of PLN 9.2 billion in 2016, the bank said in a press statement. This figure is higher than the previous highest profit of 8,6 mln PLN in 2011.
By law, 95% of NBP profits are transferred to the state budget, which is why this year’s NBP’s contribution to the budget will reach PLN 8.74 billion. The money will lower the debt needs of Poland but will not affect the level of public sector’s deficit, the Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki added.
NBP reported PLN 8.28 billion profit for 2015.
