In accordance with the newest statistics of Central Statistical Office (GUS), Poland’s registered unemployment rate slipped to 9.7% in September. In comparison, a prior-month level was 9.9%. The August jobless rate was revised to 9.9% from 10.0% previously estimated.
Only a year before, in September 2014, the unemployment rate in Poland was 11,5%.
At the end of this month, the labour offices disposed of job offers for 97 thousand people (against 97,9 thousand a month before and 86,5 thousand a year earlier).
“This result confirms that the decline in unemployment is in no case a seasonal: it is a durable tendency,” Labor Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told PAP Polish news agency following the publication. “Poland’s labor market is getting stronger.”
The number of registered jobless at end-September measured 1.5394 million, versus 1.5635 million in the month-prior reading.
The unemployment rate was down in all 16 Polish regions.
