Poland advanced to 36th place from the previous year’s 41st in the Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017 prepared by the World Economic Forum (WEF), the National Bank of Poland (NBP) announced on Wednesday.
The report presents the results of an annual WEF survey and is of key importance in decision-making by foreign investors, the NBP commented.
Polish entrepreneurs polled in the survey indicated the tax law as the biggest barrier in business operations, according to the NBP.
The ranking list is based on data from 14,000 companies from 138 countries, including 214 businesses from Poland.
