More and more foreign tourists visit Poland, the Central Statistical Office’s (GUS) data show. Their number grew to 3.4 million in the first seven months of 2016 from 3.2 million in the same period of 2015.
In July, Poland was visited by 735,400 foreign tourists, up from 694,000 in the same month last year.
July also featured World Youth Day, a Catholic youth festival organised in and around the Polish southern city of Krakow on July 26-31, 2016. The festival was attended by Pope Francis and attracted several hundred thousand pilgrims from all over the world.
