A number of new ministers were introduced yesterday by newly appointed Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, after his visit in Brussels which concerned control over the country’s justice system.
Deputy Minister of Finance Teresa Czerwinska, who has spearheaded budgeting, will take the reigns at Finance. Deputy Minister of Development Jadwiga Emilewicz was tagged to lead a new Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology as the prior super-ministry of Development was broken up. Fellow deputy Minister of Development Jerzy Kwiecinski was named Minister of Investments and Development, the core of the prior Development Ministry.
Furthermore, Antoni Macierewicz former defence minister will be replaced by Mariusz Błaszczak, who moves from interior ministry brief. Morawiecki also dismissed the environment minister, Jan Szyszko, who will be replaced by Henryk Kowalczyk.
