Spending of foreign non-residents in Poland increased last year by 6.4% to PLN 37.7 billion, a survey run by Central Statistical Office (GUS) showed.
The increase took place despite a significant decline of Russian and Belarusian spending in Poland, which dropped by 34% and 19.4% respectively.
The rise came as an effect of greater spending of Ukrainians, Germans, Lithuanians, Slovakians and Czechs. Ukrainians spent some 28% year on year more in Poland in 2015, while Germans some 18% more.
Poland is perceived as an attractive shopping destination due to relatively weak currency and low VAT on food.
