Carl Bildt visited Poland (Sopot) for EFNI. The European Forum for New Ideas is an international discussion meeting of the business milieus focusing on the future of Europe and its economy in the broad, global context. The chairman of the Global Internet Management Committee talked about cyberattacks and took part in debates about the future of Europe.
The European Forum of New Ideas is a unique event in which outstanding managers, entrepreneurs, experts, leaders of culture, the media and non-governmental organizations. During three days and 50 hours debates together create new ideas for Europe.
“Globalism, bilateralism, economic patriotism? Challenges for societies and business.” This was the theme of this year’s forum theme. Discussions also concerned Brexit, the future of the European Union and European integration.
Carl Bildt comes from Halmstad. He is a diplomat of international fame. In the years 2006-2014 was a Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in 1991-1994 the Prime Minister of Sweden. He was the EU Special Representative for the former Yugoslavia, the High Commissioner for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the UN Special Border Ambassador in the Balkans, and the Co-Chair of the Dayton Peace Conference. Member of the Global Agenda Council on Europe at the World Economic Forum.
