he World Bank cut its forecast for 2017 and 2018 Polish GDP growth to 3.5% from 3.9% previously, the June edition of the bank’s Global Economic Prospects showed.  At the same time, the 2016 forecast was maintained at 3.7%, with the new child subsidies being the main driver of this year’s growth. “Economic activity in Poland will be helped by additional public spending in the form of monthly support payments for parents with two or more children,” the bank said.

Poland is one of few countries in the world (alongside China, Turkey, Pakistan and Thailand) whose GDP growth forecast for this year has not been cut by the World Bank in its June report, the daily Puls Biznesu wrote.
