Broadcaster Polsat, a unit of media and telecom group Cyfrowy Polsat, should take a profit from broadcasting this summer’s European football championship, media house Codemedia CEO Piotr Bienko said.
Polsat will have to share the budget prepared by advertisers for the event, likely some PLN 40-50 million, with public broadcaster TVP, but will earn some EUR 10 million for a sub-license for TVP for broadcasting 11 out of 51 total games, according to unofficial information.
Also, Polsat will be earning on paid access to two channels where all games will be shown, Bienko enumerated.
