In accordance with the preliminary data of the Central Statistical Office of Poland, in the first half of 2015 exports from Poland amounted to 87.2 billion EUR and was 6.7% higher in comparison with the first half of 2014. The value of import amounted to 84.3 billion EUR, which means an increase by 1.9% y/y. The overall turnover resulted with a surplus of 2.9 billion EUR against a deficit of approximately 1 billion a year earlier.
Export to Sweden in the first half of 2015 amounted to 2.75%. Import from Sweden to Poland amounted to 1.92% of a total turnover.
In the first half of 2015 exports to developed countries increased by 9%. A significant decrease in exports was recorded for exports to countries of Central and Eastern Europe (by 26%). This was the result of continuously unstable eastern border and as an effect there was a decline in exports to Russia and Ukraine (respectively by 29.5% and 11.4% y/y). At the same time, the participation of countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the structure of exports was lower by 2.2% compared with the same period of 2014 and fell to 5.1.
