On Thursday, September 24th “Super Express” awarded the Golden Laurels in the category of “Business and Science” to the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing. The award was received by Prof. Henryk Skarżyńśki. Golden Laurels are awarded to people, associations and companies which enroll in benefit for the Polish economy. They are awarded in 12 categories.
Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing has great achievements in the treatment of hearing impairment both in Poland and internationally. The Institute implements the latest solutions in order to treat more and more patients. In fact it operates across four continents. Where possible the team of Prof. Skarżyński conducts research on the early detection of hearing impairment. With the initiative of the Institute, the world’s first Telemedicine Network has been established in Poland. Thanks to the ICT it is possible to carry out research in such regions as Africa or South America.
More than that the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing in its activities particularly cares for newborns. Prof. Skarżyński is responsible for creating and implementing a screening program for newborns. As a result of this Poland has become a leader in this field worldwide.
The Golden Laurels of “Super Business” were awarded for the second time. The competition was organized by the editors of “Super Express” in cooperation with the National Chamber of Commerce, the Business Center Club and the Employers of Poland.
