Summer in Pomorskie

In accordance with the newest +48 Magazine, the 2015 spring/summer season belongs to Pomorskie, as it states, the best region to visit in Poland. It’s closer than you think – either by fast and low-cost Wizzair connection, or by Stena Line – you will get here within a few hours. When you’re here, try delicious regional food. Discover each of the cities, have a rest on the beach in Gdańsk, Sopot (with its famous pier, the longest one in Europe), or Gdynia Orłowo (with its picturesque cliff).

The summer here will grab your attention with its numerous attractions. There are events you should see when you´re on the spot. They range from such connected with sport (Baltica Tour or the 49th Grand Prix Gdynia 2015), through those connected with culture and entertainment (Shakespeare Festival), deriving from the history (Malbork siege) ending with fairs: St. Dominic’s Fair and Amber Fairs. Malbork siege
When: 24–26 July 2015
Where: Malbork

If you wish to embark on a historical ad­venture, it is worth visiting the largest medieval castle in the world. The event is a re-enactment of what happened in 1410, right after Poles had won the Battle of Grunwald. To see all the castle you should plan to stay there few hours, taking into consideration its size.

St. Dominic’s Fair
When: 25 July – 16 August 2015
Where: Gdańsk, Main Town, Old Town

One of the largest fairs in Europe and the third biggest one. Tourists from the whole world come to Gdansk every year to become a part of this several-hun­dred-years-old tradition. Countless stands with regional food and souvenirs, open-air concerts and last year’s large observation wheel. See you in Gdansk this summer!

Baltica Tour
When: 28 July – 2 August, 4–9 August 2015
Where: Ciekocinko

An equestrian competition in the pictur­esque Ciekocinko, where you can use the benefits of nature and ride on horseback on the seashore yourself. Baltica Tour is also a chance for non-professionals to meet representatives of the Polish eques­trian market.

49th Grand Prix Gdynia 2015
When: 30 July – 2 August 2015
Where: Gdynia Marina

World-class competitors will take part in the fifth edition of the Grand Prix Gdynia race. 49er is a two-person boat that has strong inclination to overturn, which is why the helmsman and the crew have to cooperate all the time. The race will begin in Marina and continue along the Sea Boulevard. It promises to be a really exciting sports show.

Shakespeare Festival
When: 1–9 August 2015
Where: Gdańsk, Shakespeare Theatre

Opened last year, the Shakespeare The­atre is an initiative that goes back to the tradition of Shakespeare’s plays staged in this part of the city. The international festival, a part of the European Shake­speare Festivals Network, is the most im­portant summer event for the Theatre.

Sopot Art & Fashion Week
When: 28–30 August 2015
Where: Sopot

One of the most important fashion and design events in Pomorskie. The most in­teresting Polish and foreign designers will have their shows organized around the Sopot pier. Additionally, the event features concerts, artistic exhibitions and much more.
