The National Bank of Poland announced on Tuesday it is going to start working on a 500 zloty banknote which will be introduced within the next two years. The euro equivalent of the 500 zloty note will be 120.
The new banknote will have the image of Polish king Jan III Sobieski. The NBP is going to maintain the chronological order of the series dubbed “The monarchs of Poland”. The 500 zloty banknote was designed in 1994, but the central bank decided to not release it.
The NBP also presented the new 200 zloty banknote with a modernized security system which will be released next February.
