Civic Platform won, despite preliminary results showing Law and Justice in the lead.
Official results announced by the State Electoral Commission on Monday evening show that the ruling Civic Platform party has obtained 32.13 percent of the votes in European Parliament elections in Poland. Main opposition party Law and Justice is close behind with 31.78 percent.
Earlier on Monday preliminary voting results suggested that Law and Justice might have been the winner in the ballot.
The Democratic Left Alliance together with the Labor Union took 9.44 percent in the ballot. The New Right, led by eurosceptic Janusz Korwin-Mikke, won support of 7.15 percent. Junior coalition partner Polish People’s Party claimed just 6.8 percent of the vote.
Other parties did not win enough support to get seats in the European Parliament. Solidarna Polska was left with 3.98 percent, Poland Together with 3.16 percent, the National Movement with 1.4 percent.
Turnout at the election was 23.82 percent.
