Foreign trade deficit at ?171.3 mln

Poland exported goods worth ?93.86 billion (PLN 392.10 billion) in January-July of 2014, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) on Monday. Imports stood at ?94.03 billion (PLN 392.83 billion).

The resulting foreign trade deficit was ?171.3 million (PLN 724.4 million), GUS said.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2013, exports grew by 6 percent and imports grew by 5 percent.

Trade with EU countries stood for 76.6 percent of Poland?s exports and for 58.7 of imports. Trade with so-called CEE countries (Albania, Belarus, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine) stood for 7.5 percent of exports and 12.9 percent of imports.
