Cohesion policy – continuation of Polish-Swedish partnership

The Minister of Investment and Development, Jerzy Kwieciński, during his stay in Stockholm, met with representatives of the governments  regarding the future of cohesion policy and the EU budget in the next financial perspective.

Jerzy Kwieciński talked to the Swedish Minister of Rural Affairs in the Ministry of Business and Innovation, Sven-Erik Bucht, responsible for cohesion policy: “We agreed together that this policy should be more focused on strengthening the competitiveness of the EU economy, in particular, to finance research, development and innovation, this is something – we believe – which should be strongly marked in the new financial perspective, so that financing of these activities is not only from the EU level in Horizon 2020, as it is at the moment, but also to its significant place in cohesion policy. “, he said.

They also talked about innovation and support for start-ups. The Minister assured us that we can learn a lot from the Swedes on this matter. He also emphasized the importance of economic exchange and the expansion of Polish enterprises to the Swedish market.
