Significant emloyment growth in Poland

 

Monthly employment growth, by ca. 12,000 is the best December result in data’s history since 2005. Poland’s strong corporate employment growth in December was caused by favorable weather conditions, which favored employment growth in construction companies, as Credit Agricole chief economist Jakub Borowski commented on the stats office GUS data.

Corporate wage bill in December rose by ca. 10%, the best result since autumn 2008, counting out October 2017 where growth rate was similar, the daily notes. Average 2017 wage growth stood at 5.6% in 2017 versus 4.1% in 2016.
